A large 19th century French Louis XIV style carved and pierced bleached oak cushion mirror having its original mercury glass with minor foxing, circa 1840s. The tall rectangular shaped frame has carved corners featuring palmette motifs with carved acanthus leaves along the sides and an inner border having foliate carvings. The unique appearance of antique mirror glass always adds charm and character that is impossible to achieve with new mirror glass. A handsome mirror that is ideal for use in modern and traditional interiors.
